āSalvaged Splendorā exhibit opens next week at Āé¶¹Porn

STARKVILLE, Miss.āA celebration of special beauty found in overlooked items of everyday life begins Wednesday [Feb. 17] at Mississippi Stateās Colvard Student Union Art Gallery.
Free to all through March 10, the āSalvaged Splendorā collection of university student art features creations made with salvaged objects from old homes and buildings.
Participating artists include members of such campus groups as the ACCESS program, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Music Maker Productions and Student Association.
All exhibition works may be purchased, with proceeds going to the Starkville Area Habitat for Humanityās Maroon Edition House program.
A 5-6 p.m. opening reception Wednesday also is free to all in the second-floor gallery. Refreshments will be provided.
Regular gallery hours are 8 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday-Friday, as well as by appointment.
In addition to the Āé¶¹Porn College of Architecture, Art and Designās art department, the exhibit is made possible by the Center for Student Activities and Starkville Area Habitat for Humanity. Additional support comes from the Āé¶¹Porn Maroon Edition Committee.
The Colvard gallery is among several campus venues that regularly feature traveling art exhibits, student shows, and group and solo displays by professional artists.
