Thousands of dog lovers gathered in the center of the Cotton District during Super Bulldog Weekend to witness the tail-wagging excitement of the Starkville Derby —the world's largest dachshund race. Officially known as the Dachshund Derby, the annual Starkville event that is quickly becoming a city tradition celebrates wiener dogs and raises funds for the Oktibbeha County Humane Society with multiple races, including categories for seniors, puppies and adult dachshunds.
